What Does My Birth Date Mean?

Friday, November 18th, 2005

Your Birthdate: November 7

You are an island. You don’t need anyone else to make you happy.
And though you see yourself as a loner, people are drawn to you.
Deep and sensitive, you tend to impress others with your insights.
You also tend to be psychic – so listen to that inner voice!

Your strength: Your self sufficiency

Your weakness: You despise authority

Your power color: Maroon

Your power symbol: Hammer

Your power month: July

Hmm, I’m not too keen on July. Too warm.
“Maroon”ed on an “island”?
I do have a hammer. I won it as a door prize at our high school senior picnic.
This assessment is fairly accurate, except that my inner voice is usually very intrusive and ridiculous. My psychic ability is projecting, not receiving. But it can make for some fun on a long car ride or getting people to say dumb answers during trivia games. Still, I always regret not being the one who gets the dumb words out. I transfer them more quickly than I speak them, so I rarely get credit for my own silliness.

SteelBuddha‘s results were so-so. SixPence and Superman had the same results?
Brian‘s results are highly suspect…

The Four Lads – Istanbul (Not Constantinople)
I was working on my paper about Hagia Sophia today and found this song to be quite appropriate.

Since the file is long gone, here is a video.

Nicole Blackman – What I Want For Christmas
My mom just asked for my wishlist last night. My mind is now obsessed with “window”-shopping, and I am falling behind on my research paper schedule. eek.

Tears for Fears – Head Over Heels

Today’s song is special, because I’m including the music video.
Recently I got into a conversation about the Music Man. I think the conversation probably branched off from a conversation about Robert Preston, because he’s fabulous, and I’m a huge Victor Victoria fan (oh, yeah, and The Last Starfighter). Well, anyway, we branched off to the Music Man, and I asked if there was a library scene in that movie, because when I think of that scene, I get vague images of the Head Over Heels video. Well, I found the video and am sharing to prove I am not insane.

Party Time!

Monday, November 14th, 2005

I had a get together on Saturday. It was gobs of fun. Originally planned as a candle party, it expanded beyond the limits of girly in-home sales parties.

We played SceneIt, Scrabble and SoulCaliber2. We chatted and such, because we are adults now. (Scary) We partook of Chinese (which made me sick as a dog on Sunday. Or it could have been the excessive liquid sugar I consumed in the misleading form of fruit juice. All the sugar of 10 apples with none of the fiber! …blech)

I got to meet the adorable Gaz. Also, Sixpence made me an awesome purse for my b-day! Sixpence (lucky girl) had to leave the party for a while to get inked for her birthday.

We really are geeky gals. Sixpence just got her Final Fantasy tattoo, but I am considering covering up Black Spiral Dancer glyph (White Wolf’s Werewolf). I don’t howl at the moon quite so much anymore…

Bad Kid

Thursday, November 10th, 2005

I’ve done it again. It’s 5pm.
I didn’t have class today, and yet I have no homework done.
At least this time I can say I did the laundry, but laundry is supposed to be one of those chores you can do while you do other things. Someone needs to lock me up with only my homework and some water. I can’t have access to distractions… like this blog.

Party Ben – Boulevard of Broken Songs
This song is a mash-up of Green Day and Oasis.
