Nothing Like a Door to Make an Adult Feel Dumb

So, I’m 30 years old. I know how to use a door.
And so I am walking through the library, approaching the automatic door. I wasn’t breaking stride, but the door was not opening. I stopped short about 6″ from the glass, and it took me 1.5 seconds to decide to push open the door with my hand. But for that 1.5 seconds, I felt dumb, as if the door had outsmarted me by not doing its part.

    I maintain that its all the door’s fault. It had a job to do and failed in its duty. You should sue.
    I’ve been living in CA too long….
